Chelsea Injury News And Expected Return Dates: Updates On Estevao, Tosin & 4 Others

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has confirmed that Estevao missed the 2-0 win over Brentford at the weekend due to illness.

A virus is currently spreading through the first-team squad, and Rosenior said the teenager is the latest to feel under the weather:

“Estevao had a temperature and a fever. So he was ill – it’s running through the squad. There were a couple of players playing today [against Brentford] who were complaining about their chests, but they put in a magnificent effort.”

Estevao faces a race against time to be fit for the Champions League clash against Pafos FC on Wednesday night.

Expected Return Date – Sunday 25th January vs Crystal Palace (a)

Tosin Adarabioyo

The centre-back was forced off in the second half during the victory against Brentford on Saturday. Speaking about the injury in his post-match press conference, Rosenior said:

“I think it’s precautionary at the moment, he said, he felt something in his hamstring. I don’t know if it’s serious, I don’t know if it’s not.”

Even if it is a minor hamstring strain, you would not expect Tosin to feature in the Champions League midweek. A lot depends on what the scans say.

Expected Return Date – Unknown
