**When West Ham defeated Tottenham on Saturday afternoon, all attention switched to Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal.**
The Hammers earned all three points thanks to Summerville and Wilson, but as soon as the match ended, West Ham fans hoped Arsenal would beat Nottingham Forest.
However, that wasn’t the case. Sean Dyche’s side managed to earn a point against the League leaders, despite not even managing a shot on target.
This really wasn’t ideal for the Hammers who wouldn’t hoped the Spurs win would’ve put us 4 points from safety. However, Forest’s point means it’s five, better than seven but not as good as 5.
This Arsenal fixture shows we simply have to rely on ourselves, we can’t rely on Forest being worse than us, because the reality is they haven’t been so far this season
After two wins in a row against QPR and Spurs, the Hammers need to keep this improvement going into the rest of the season.
With Sunderland, Chelsea, Burnley and Manchester United coming up in the Premier League, we need to be getting at least 7 points from these games if we want to get out of the relegation zone anytime soon.
Forest have Brentford, Palace, Leeds and Wolves coming up in the Premier League, amongst a couple of Europa League matches. These are hugely important games for Forest, and if they manage to rack up the points, and we can’t stay within touching distance, it could all but confirm our relegation.
