Liverpool’s season of frustration continues this weekend as Arne Slot’s side make the trip to Bournemouth on Saturday, January 24th, seeking to end a worrying run of form that has seen the Reds draw their last four Premier League matches.

With Champions League qualification- once considered a formality for the reigning champions – now far from guaranteed, the pressure is mounting on Slot to rediscover the winning formula that seems to have deserted his expensively assembled squad.

The match at the Vitality Stadium, kicking off at 5:30pm GMT, and it has now been confirmed that Bournemouth have reinforced their midfield ahead of hosting Liverpool at the Vitality Stadium.

The Cherries have officially confirmed the signing of 20-year-old Hungarian starlet Alex Tóth in a deal that could ultimately cost £13 million with performance-related add-ons. The transfer represents a Premier League record from the Hungarian league.

AFC Bournemouth’s Head of Football Operations, Tiago Pinto, said of the signing: “I’m really pleased to bring such a young talent in Alex to the club and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

“He has come from a club that is used to competing at the highest level in Hungary, while also featuring in Europe, so we’re excited about what he can bring to us in Bournemouth as he continues to develop further under the coaching of Andoni.”

Tóth himself said of the transfer: “It feels amazing to be a part of this club and I am excited to achieve good things.”

“When I knew AFC Bournemouth were first interested in me, I was excited and happy because this is a good club in the Premier League, the best league in the world and the strongest league.

“The whole club, the whole structure is great. When I was speaking to the directors, it was quite obvious for me because they were such good guys. I am really looking forward to achieving great things and making good results with this team.”
