Arsenal have a ‘genuine interest’ in signing Inter Milan defender Federico Dimarco, according to Italian publication Tuttosport. as they seek for an aleternative to long-term target Marc Guehi.
ARSENAL were one of the many clubs that were very much interested in trying to sign Marc Guehi at the end of the season, after his contact at Crystal Palace ran out, but they have now missed out on the England star.
Manchester City decided that now was the right time to make a move for Guehi, splashed a big of money, and nailed down the defender for the next couple of years, ending all interest from the Gunners over a possible move.
That has led to all sorts of interest about players that ARSENAL may now look to turn too, and they have a ‘genuine interest’ in signing Inter Milan defender Federico Dimarco, according to Italian publication Tuttosport
His current deal expires in June next year, and the Nerazzurri are planning talks as early as February to commit him to new terms, but the report adds that Arsenal have a genuine interest in signing the defender as back-up.
In the current campaign, Dimarco has been a major attacking influence, contributing four goals and seven assists across 19 Serie A appearances.
IcFootballnews Says…
ARSENAL have interest in alot of players, there are alot of stars out there that would be open to making the move to the Premier League leaders, but going from a regular starter at Milan to back-up and the Emirates may not interest Dimarco.
If Arsenal are going to add a new defender to the side, we are sure that is will be a younger player that they can mold, just like they did with the signing of William Saliba a few years ago.
