Rennes head coach Habib Beye has urged the club to reject all offers from Chelsea for Jeremy Jacquet this January, as the coach claims that the young defender needs to stay in France for his development.
CHELSEA have been linked with alot of players over the past few weeks, and some big names have been mentioned, but it seems that Jacquet is the clubs number one transfer target and the board have been working hard to secure a deal.
It has been claimed that the player has asked to join Chelsea, the club have come to an agreement over a deal for the defender and it was only a matter of time before an announcement was made by the clubs hierarchy.
And asked about Jacquet’s situation after Sunday’s Ligue 1 contest, Rennes boss Beye told reporters that he wants the young man to stay put: ‘The power I have is to talk to him and tell him what I think of him at Stade Rennais, what I think of his development,’ he went on.
‘I know where he wants to go in his career. I think that today, I’m contributing, we’re all contributing as a staff to help him progress, to the point where he’s now being targeted by his best clubs.
‘In five months, he’ll be even more accomplished, and so, [if he stays] it can be beneficial for everyone, for the club, for Jeremy, and for the club that might come looking for him.’
IcFootballnews Says…
The lad is talented, he has a big future, he is playing well, all these things could go wrong with a move to Chelsea because he may not get the game time that he needs to develop.
We are not sure why this move is happening, maybe CHELSEA just dont want their rivals to sign the player, but at the end of the day, he does not need to move and this may come too early for the lad.
