Chelsea outcast spotted in first-team training after being exiled by Enzo Maresca

Chelsea are gearing up for the return of Champions League football, and there was one big surprise in Liam Rosenior’s training session.

The Blues have something to build on after securing their first Premier League win under Liam Rosenior.

It certainly wasn’t a vintage Chelsea performance, with Brentford enjoying some dangerous spells and going close on numerous occasions; however, the three points are all that matter.

Attention now turns to the Champions League against Pafos. A win would go a long way to boosting Chelsea’s chances of an automatic bye to the round of 16.

Estevao Willian was spotted in training after missing the squad for the Premier League clash at the weekend, which will come as a boost.

However, he wasn’t the biggest surprise at Cobham.

Axel Disasi back training with the first team at Chelsea

Axel Disasi has been playing for the Under-21s recently, after being exiled by Enzo Maresca during his time at the club, alongside Raheem Sterling and several other players.

An exit seemed almost inevitable a few days ago, with Lyon and Roma making enquiries for Disasi, but maybe this is a sign that he could stay.

In training ahead of tomorrow’s clash at Stamford Bridge, Axel Disasi was spotted training with the Chelsea first-team.

This could perhaps be down to the fact that Calum McFarlane has spoken about how well the defender had done with the Under-21 side, and Rosenior vowed to chat to the Frenchman.

Is there a way back for Axel Disasi at Chelsea?

Or do the Blues just need to cut their losses? 👀

Chelsea’s centre-back options paint a clear picture

Trevoh Chalobah, Benoit Badisahile, Wesley Fofana and Tosin Adarabioyo have been the preferred options for Rosenior since he took charge.

But he’s not quite satisfied with relying on a pool of just four central defenders. Chelsea are actively trying to sign French defender Jeremy Jacquet, which says a lot.

This suggests that Disasi could be out of the picture unless a different central defender leaves.

With only two central defensive positions on the pitch with the four-back formation, it would mean that Chelsea have four centre-backs waiting in the wings, which seems like overkill.
