The Chelsea owners have made several controversial decisions during their time at Stamford Bridge, but this latest one has caught Gus Poyet’s eye.
Chelsea have kick-started their new era under Liam Rosenior in a rather positive fashion, picking up a Premier League win and an FA Cup win, either side of a defeat to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.
The most important thing is that the Chelsea players are taking to Rosenior, with Liam Delap one of many who have hailed the new manager.
However, with matches coming thick and fast, this will be a testing time for Rosenior and his Chelsea squad, as the Champions League returns this week.
They welcome David Luiz and his new side, Pafos, but it won’t be easy.
Despite the positive start for Rosenior, Gus Poyet is still in disbelief at Enzo Maresca‘s departure.

Gus Poyet cannot believe Enzo Maresca isn’t Chelsea manager
Gus Poyet made 145 appearances for Chelsea between 1997 and 2001, winning the FA Cup, the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the FA Charity Shield.
Chelsea fans didn’t agree when Enzo Maresca was sacked. Many were furious at the decision from the club, stating that all he did was stand up for himself and did not want to be micromanaged.
Gus Poyet is a Chelsea fan at heart, and even he has called out the owners in an interview with FlashScore.
“Someone who wins the Conference League and then the Club World Cup and gets sacked… honestly, I really can’t explain it.
“I think the person at the top of the club, whoever it is, whether it’s the owner or the CEO, should clearly state what the team’s objective is, so everyone understands it, both the manager and the fans.”
“Usually, it’s the manager who takes the blame. And after signing so many young players, they went back to wanting instant success.

“But that’s not how it works, especially if you buy young players. Some managers keep quiet and bottle everything up, but Enzo was honest and made it clear he was fed up.
“In the end, whether you speak up or not, you get sacked anyway!”
