Celtic reportedly hold an interest in Girona winger Yaser Asprilla as the club scramble to hand Martin O'Neill more attacking options.
Julián Araujo's arrival from Bournemouth is the only new recruit in the door so far this month – with O'Neill previously making it clear that the Hoops need a new striker, among other attacking options. Asprilla joined Girona from Watford in the summer of 2024 and has since registered three goals and an assist across 36 outings in Spain.
However, the 22-year-old has struggled for regular game time this season - only netting one goal this term, having mainly featured off the bench for the La Liga side. Despite his contract running until 2030, AS reporter Pipa Sierra reports that an exit is "imminent" for the forward.
It is noted that The City Group - who own Girona - "acknowledges that he is an important asset" but that "they haven't got the most out of him at the Spanish club". Celtic are mentioned as an interested party alongside Ajax, West Ham and Marseille.
The Hoops are also keen on a striker with talks taking place over a deal for Lorient's Mohamed Bamba. But Ivory Coast striker Ibrahim Diabate looks set to join Leicester City from GAIS despite previously being on the Hoops radar.

Swedish outlet Aftonbladet report that a £2million move has been agreed in principle. It is claimed the final decision rests with manager Marti Cifuentes - who will reportedly use his experience of managing in Sweden to determine if Diabate can make the jump to the Championship.
Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana is on Celtic's shopping list again after the collapse of a summer move to Glasgow's East End.
The 22-year-old saw his loan at Turkish Super Lig side Fatih Karagümrük cut short by Chelsea as the Premier League giants look to cut offload the frontman permanently.
Reports south of the border, however, suggest the Stamford Bridge chiefs hope to recoup a large chunk of the £10million they paid Malmo for his services in 2023.
Former Hoops striker Frank McAvennie admits to having concerns over the potential deal. He told his 'Let Me Be Frank' podcast: “It frightens me that he has gone to Turkey on loan, and they don’t want to buy him. You have to look at it that way.”
