Tosin Adarabioyo faces weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
Chelsea’s former Fulham defender went off during the second half of Saturday’s 2-0 win against Brentfordat Stamford Bridge.
And a scan has confirmed that he faces a spell out of action.
“Unfortunately for Tosin, there’s something in his hamstring that’s going to rule him out for the next few weeks,” said head coach Liam Rosenior.
Rosenior was speaking on the eve of Chelsea’s Champions League match against Pafos.
Enzo Fernandez appears to be a doubt for the game after missing training because of illness.
Rosenior explained: “Enzo Fernandez was ill yesterday and missed training.
“Estevao has been back in. Jamie Gittens is back in. Malo Gusto is back involved – another outstanding player.”
