Thierry Henry Delivers Strong Man City and Liverpool Message as He Praises Arteta’s Arsenal

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has said the Gunners are doing “extremely well” in the Premier League title race.

The Gunners are currently seven points clear of Manchester City in the Premier League after Pep Guardiola’s side lost over the weekend to rivals Man United. Arsenal failed to capitalise fully with three points, but did pick up one point by drawing 0-0 to Nottingham Forest.

If they manage to beat Man United next weekend, the Gunners could take a 10 point lead at the top of the table, which puts Mikel Arteta‘s side in pole position to claim their first Premier League title under the Spaniard.

However, many have been critical of the Gunners, especially more recently, as they have struggled to create chances from open play, and have relied heavily on set-pieces.

Henry sends Man City a strong Arsenal message

Former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry has hit back at the critics, as he believes the Gunners are simply finding a way to win, and that is all that matters in the Premier League.

Henry said on Sky Sports: “They’re seven points ahead. What do you want to be? 30 points ahead and to win the league already now. We are doing extremely well. We asked Mikel Arteta to find a way to be above Liverpool and Man City. If they’re not following with Villa, that’s on them.

“Look at what you’re doing, and what you can do, however you want to do it. I know a lot of people are talking about set pieces and not a lot of chances created and whatnot, we asked him to find a way to win, that’s what he’s doing.”

The Gunners are seven points ahead of Man City and Aston Villa, and a further six points ahead of Liverpool, who have struggled to replicate their form from last season. Arteta will hope his side can get back to winning ways against Man United this weekend.
