Chelsea fans tell club who to sign instead of Jeremy Jacquet with both stars on shortlist

Chelsea are set to hand their new manager Liam Rosenior another central defender before the January transfer window closes.

Right now, it looks like Rennes’ Jeremy Jacquet will be the centre-back who arrives at Stamford Bridge this month.

It has been claimed that Chelsea have promised Jacquet regular game time in a bid to convince the 20-year-old to move to west London.

Some Chelsea fans want club to sign Marcos Senesi

Chelsea have both Jacquet and Marcos Senesi on their shortlist, and there are fans who are very open to the idea of the latter joining the club.

On TalkingPoints, we asked Chelsea supporters who they would sign out of Jacquet, Senesi and Jacobo Ramon.

In response, one Chelsea fan said: “I know that Senesi is good and we need some older player to balance the squad.”

Another said: “I’m going for Marcos Senesi.”

One supporter replied: “We need a centre-back who can improve us NOW, and Senesi is familiar with the Prem and has played consistently well all season, despite Bournemouth’s poor overall performance.”

Another posted: “Senesi, he’s got experience and is a great defender.”

“Senesi, of course,” another Chelsea fan wrote. Another even asked for both Senesi and Jacquet to be signed! Want to have your say? Comment below:

Senesi is out of contract in the summer and has not given any indications that he will sign a new one. Considering that, you would assume that Bournemouth would be willing to do business this month, yet that does not seem to be the case.

Bournemouth’s stance on selling Marcos Senesi this month

Bournemouth look prepared to lose Senesi on a free transfer at the end of the season.

It is thought that Bournemouth have no intention of selling Senesi during the January transfer window in a blow to Chelsea, Barcelona and Juventus.

As well as the Blues, the two other European giants are also thought to be keen on the 28-year-old. It means there could be a real scrap for him in the summer.

Senesi is a quality defender who will cost his next club nothing should he leave the Vitality Stadium as a free agent.

According to FBref, Senesi is making 2.03 tackles per 90 minutes, which puts him in the 87th percentile among centre-backs. The Argentina international knows how to win the ball back and will no doubt be a huge asset to Chelsea, Barcelona, Juventus or whoever he ends up joining.
