New York Knicks players haven't fully bought into their roles under head coach Mike Brown and have lost nine of their last 11 games despite sitting third in the East.

The New York Knicks players haven't fully embraced their roles under head coach Mike Brown, according to Ian Begley of SNY.

"In digging around on this, one theme has come up consistently over the past couple of weeks: This group is not tied together in the way that their early-season success would suggest," Begley reported.

"Players haven't fully bought into their roles under head coach Mike Brown," the reporter added. "Those reasons are cited often when you talk to people about the Knicks’ flaws."

The results show. The Knicks have lost nine of their last 11 games, with their defense ranking among the worst in the league over that span. Despite sitting at 25-18 and third in the Eastern Conference, Toronto is closing in.

The struggles have also frustrated fans. MSG booed the team during their last two home losses -- to the Phoenix Suns and, most recently, Monday against the Dallas Mavericks.

Last season, the Knicks reached the Eastern Conference Finals. Yet, they still fired Tom Thibodeau and replaced him with Brown over the summer.
