Rosenior immediately solved the issue, thanks to Pedro, that the former Chelsea manager Maresca failed to overcome. The London Blues, Chelsea, faced Brentford in the Premier League. In their last fixture Brentford ruined the night as Wissa’s performance led Brentford to draw against Chelsea. Enzo Maresca failed to secure the win for Chelsea, something that the new coach Rosenior did. In their latest game against Brentford, the coach sealed the win while keeping a clean sheet, achieving something Maresca couldn’t. The team gave a strong performance. It would be interesting to see how the new coach manages the club next.
Chelsea were made to work for their first Premier League win under Liam Rosenior. Although the eventual routine look of a 2-0 scoreline, complete with the first clean sheet of his reign, will have hit the spot. There were signs of things clicking on the pitch under the new boss. But some fans still weren’t happy ahead of today’s game. Chelsea earned their first Premier League win under Liam Rosenior as beat Brentford 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer, from the penalty spot, scored either side of the interval for the Blues. Brentford came out with renewed impetus from the break, but somehow the clean sheet remained intact. Robert Sánchez made yet another ridiculous save, and this time he didn’t flub any crosses either! But Chelsea were looking dead at minute 50, and it seemed like only a matter of time before our net would ripple. Brentford resumed their quest for a goal, but it was not their day. Chelsea went down deep on the pitch, Rosenior responded by throwing more defenders on, and that ensured that it was a Blue day instead!
Pedro addressed the Rosenior effect.
“It’s been a while since we won a Premier League game,” said Pedro. The team had previously won just one out of nine in the league and had slipped back in the race for the Champions League. “We didn’t play as well as we can, but we won, secured a clean sheet, and earned three points. That’s the important thing. “When we play at home, we need to show ourselves and be aggressive like we did. I think when you win, you feel more confident, because we’re still in the race and we want to be as close to the top as possible.” Pedro’s goal came in the 26th minute when the game was still finely balanced and came from a wonderful finish that appeared to take Kelleher by surprise. It was the seventh league goal of his debut Chelsea campaign. “We needed that goal, and I want to score in as many games as possible,” he said. Chelsea showed good spirit to dig in once Brentford took charge after the break, leaving Rosenior with plenty about which to be optimistic in what was his third game in charge.
Fan’s reaction
The fans are happy after their long-awaited win against Brentford. The win gave the team and the fans a huge boost after their loss in the London derby against Arsenal. Rosenior made a bold statement in the Premier League after giving Chelsea their victory. Social media is full of comparions between Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior. Even Pedro is happy with the new coach. “He has tried to help us do what he wants,” said Pedro. “I think we all tried to help each other on the pitch, running for each other to stop the other team from creating attacking opportunities” Pedro said.
