Fifth-year New York Knicks guard Miles McBride has reportedly drawn “leaguewide interest” ahead of the Feb. 5 trade deadline.

Per Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix, the Knicks covet McBride, too, and have no interest in parting with their two-way guard amid his career year.

“There is a lot of leaguewide interest in Deuce McBride,” Mannix said on “NBA on NBC” podcast while analyzing the Knicks’ trade plans over the next few weeks.

“He’s also under a very team-friendly contract [$4.3M this season and $4M next year], and that’s a very valuable commodity for a contending team.”

“The Knicks are not looking to trade Decuce McBride,” Mannix added.

Miles McBride Having Career Year

McBride is averaging career-highs in points (13.1), 3PM (3.0), 3P% (.431) and rebounds (2.6), while also serving as the Knicks’ best wing defender off the bench. In fact, Mike Brown has routinely elected to keep McBride in clutch lineups due to his ability to make timely threes and guard the opponent’s best perimeter scorers.

Besides leading the Knicks in plus/minus (+5.2), the 25-year-old has emerged as the Knicks’ most efficient three-point shooter, leading in both made threes and 3P%.

His jump this year hasn’t surprised the Knicks faithful. McBride was a key piece of the teams that advanced beyond the second round of the playoffs for three consecutive years, including a trip to the Conference Finals last season. In the East semifinals win over the Boston Celtics last year, McBride averaged 2.0 made threes at a clip of 50%, making several huge shots that swung the momentum in New York’s favor.

Knicks Trade Deadline Plans

As such, it appears unlikely the Knicks would entertain the idea of a Miles McBride trade, unless, of course, it involves a game-changer like Giannis Antetokounmpo.

As has been widely reported, the Knicks are seeking ball-handlers and 3-point shooters to shore up their bench ahead of a playoff push. Per Mannix, the top Knicks trade targets are Sacramento Kings’ Keon Ellis and New Orleans Pelicans’ Jose Alvarado.

“The two areas I’ve been told the Knicks are prioritizing over the next few weeks are ball-handling and perimeter shooting,” Mannix reported.

“Some of the guys Knicks are willing to trade are Guerschon Yabusele and Pacome Dadiet. …Knicks are targeting bench reserves, three-point shooters — guys who can help with some of that ball-handling responsibility.”

The Knicks may need more than a minor roster tweak to right their ship. Mike Brown’s team has lost nine of its last 11 games, including an embarrassing loss to the lottery-bound Dallas Mavericks on MLK Day Monday. Since the start of 2026, the Knicks rank 28th in WIN% (2-8), 28th in PPG (107.1), 26th in offensive rating (109.4), 27th in defensive rating (118.4) and 28th in net rating (-9.0).

Brown gave his team a dressing down for giving up 75 first-half points, including 44 in the second quarter, to a Dallas team without Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, P.J. Washington, Daniel Gafford, D’Angelo Russell and Dereck Lively II.

“It’s frustrating. It’s frustrating to me, it’s frustrating to every person in that locker room,” Brown said of the Knicks’ ongoing defensive struggles, via SNY’s Ben Krimmel.
