Chelsea may be working hard to complete a deal for Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet currently, but they also have eyes on some potential signings for the summer window.
Notoriously, Todd Boehly and BlueCo much prefer to spend big in the summer transfer windows. Last summer, Chelsea splashed a whopping £300m on 10 players including Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.
But this month, not a single penny has been spent and in fact, Chelsea have rubber-stamped exits for two players. Leo Castledine has joined Middlesbrough, while Facundo Buonanotte’s loan was cancelled.
However, that could change very quickly. There have been differing reports over whether Jacquet has agreed a move to Chelsea, but it all hinges on whether Chelsea can stump up the necessary £60m fee.

But Chelsea are not just considering Jacquet, with planning already going into the summer window. It is expected that Chelsea will look to bolster their side in the final third this summer, with a big addition.
Chelsea keeping tabs on World Cup winner for summer
Back in November, the Chelsea Chronicle reported that Julian Alvarez was considering his future at Atletico Madrid with Chelsea touted as an option. Now, The Mail have an update on Alvarez’s future.

The 2022 World Cup winner is certainly looking for a move this summer, and Chelsea have joined PSG in keeping tabs on Alvarez both on and off the pitch. Both sides are planning a summer move for him.
It is believed Alvarez has a release clause worth an enormous £435m and while Atleti won’t charge that for his services, they did pay Man City £81m to sign him and the chances are, they will want more to sell.
What Enzo Fernandez has said about Julian Alvarez in the past…
If Chelsea do move for Alvarez, he would be joining a side that boast one of the players he started his career with at River Plate in the form of Enzo Fernandez. The duo have gone on to reach the very top.
Both key parts of Argentina’s World Cup-winning squad, the duo have won league titles and Club World Cups to boot. Speaking in 2023 while Alvarez was at Man City, Enzo was delighted both had made it.
Julian Alvarez, Dusan Vlahovic and Jean Philippe-Mateta could all be available in 2026. Who would you like to see Chelsea sign?

“It’s been a journey for us. We started out at River together so we know each other well. We are both very proud to have come to the Premier League, the best league in the world,” Enzo told Chelsea’s website.
Whether Alvarez does look for an exit in the summer at Atletico Madrid remains to be seen but if Chelsea do sign him, it would be a wonderful bit of business. It might even tempt Enzo to ignore PSG’s advances.
