Brooklyn Beckham escalated his ongoing public feud with his parents, David and Victoria, to new levels on Monday evening with an explosive statement. He accused the Manchester United legend and his wife of 'controlling' his life after previously blocking them both on social media.
The breakdown in Brooklyn's relationship with the England icon and former Spice Girl is said to have been brewing for several years. One of the biggest issues is reported to have stemmed from his wife, Nicola Peltz, who failed to wear a dress designed by her mother-in-law.

David Beckham Speaks Out For First Time Since Brooklyn's Explosive Statement
The former Manchester United midfielder has made his first appearance since his eldest son's explosive comments.
Amid his extremely long statement about his parents, Brooklyn accused them of planting 'lies' in the media. The 26-year-old also stated:
"For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into."

David Beckham's oldest son had spells in the LA Galaxy and Paris Saint-Germain youth academies as he looked to follow in his dad's footsteps. With lofty expectations to live up to, Brooklyn was given trials or trained with several high-profile English clubs.
After his father's retirement in 2013, the youngster had spells with Chelsea, Manchester United and Fulham, among others. His most notable experience came with north London giants Arsenal. The Gunners signed him in 2014.
The 15-year-old at the time earned a place in the club's Under-18s playing as a right-sided midfielder. Unfortunately for Brooklyn, Arsenal didn't offer him scholarship terms as his development was behind other players in his age group.

Brooklyn decided to call it quits on his football career after being let go by the Premier League giants. David gave a heartbreaking statement after being told his son wouldn't pursue football anymore. He said (per talkSPORT):
"One of my boys turned around to me the other day and said, 'Daddy, I'm not sure I want to play football all the time
"It broke my heart a little bit. He said, 'Every time I step on to the field, I know people are saying, 'This is David Beckham's son', and if I am not as good as you, then it is not good enough."
"I said, 'Okay, stop right there… You play because you want to play'. I don't want them [my children] to have that pressure. I want them to be happy. As long as they're happy, that's all I care about," he continued.

After calling Brooklyn an "entitled brat" last June, the British TV presenter couldn't help weigh in on the latest news regarding the Beckhams.
That version of Becks doesn't quite seem to line up with recent accusations that he was more focused on 'Brand Beckham' than his children's happiness. However, in 2022, the former model backed up his dad's words.
He claimed: "My dad wasn't sad, because he was like, 'I just want you to be happy'. But of course, I was sad. It was my whole life since I was literally two."
