Barcelona agree €3 million + €5 million loan-to-buy deal for teenage striker

It was reported on Sunday that Barcelona are facing hiccups in their pursuit of Hamza Abdelkarim, the young attacker regarded as the next big thing in Egyptian football.

But after constant back and forth due to bureaucratic delays, it appears Barcelona have finally reached an agreement with Al Ahly and appear on the verge of signing the player.

Big breakthrough for Barcelona

According to Diario SPORT, Barcelona are currently reviewing the final documentation before authorising the arrival of the 18-year-old talent after reaching an agreement with Al Ahly.

The operation, which was at risk of collapsing due to missing paperwork and contract disputes, has been finally ratified.

The key resolution involves Abdelkarim’s contract status, with the player agreeing to renew for an additional season with Al Ahly.

This ensures the Egyptian giants retain control over his future should Barcelona decide not to exercise the purchase option included in the loan deal.

The operation is expected to cost around €3 million, plus €5 million in variables.

With the agreement between the clubs settled, the only remaining hurdle is Financial Fair Play. Although it is a loan, the salary mass must be accounted for.

The imminent departure of Mamadou Mbacke Fall is expected to generate the necessary margin to register the forward.

Once the final signatures are done, Abdelkarim will travel to Barcelona to join Juliano Belletti’s squad.

His arrival is crucial for Barça Atletic, which is currently in the promotion playoff spots but severely hampered by injuries to attackers Victor Barbera and Oscar Urena.

The U-17 World Cup standout, who scored two goals in four matches at the tournament, will join fellow incoming striker Joaquin Delgado in a revamped attack.
