Nottingham Forest fans name Man of the Match vs Arsenal as Elliot Anderson comes second

The Nottingham Forest fan base were in no doubt as to who their star man was as the Reds claimed a solid point against Arsenal.

Despite only Liverpool stopping the Gunners from scoring in a Premier League game this season, Forest produced a defensive masterclass to play a big part in a 0-0 draw.

Elliot Anderson upstaged Declan Rice as England’s two midfielders locked horns in the middle of the park, and this was an emphatic team performance from Sean Dyche’s team.

Forest didn’t have a shot on target during the draw, but given how mediocre the team have been during the 2025/26 campaign, this has to go down as a point gained.

Across the pitch, there were impressive performances from the players wearing the Garibaldi, but it would appear that picking a Man of the Match was straightforward for the fans.

Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels came out on top with a staggering 58% of the votes, with almost 500 votes registered after the match.

Elliot Anderson was the closest to the custodian with 27% of the votes and Callum Hudson-Odoi was further back in third place with much fewer votes.

The official Player of the Match awarded by the Premier League went to Sels, and it would appear as though our readers agreed with this mindset.

Matz Sels silenced his critics vs Arsenal

After winning a share of the Golden Glove last season, the current campaign has been much harder for the goalkeeper with Forest struggling in the Premier League.

However, Sels was fantastic against Arsenal and really flexed what he is still capable of producing on any given day when he’s called upon between the posts for Forest.

They do say that form is temporary and class is permanent, which is what Sels will absolutely be hoping to continue proving during the rest of the campaign.

Sels has little competition between the posts right now, with John Victor having surgery on a knee problem, and maybe that is something that Forest will look at before the window closes.
