In the Premier League era, Chelsea have signed some very talented centre-forwards.
As most recently as last summer, Chelsea brought in Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, who can both be very dangerous strikers on their day.
However, while the jury is still out on those two, a lot of other No.9s signed by the club will have to go down as flops.

For all the quality that they had, the likes of Radamel Falcao, Gonzalo Higuain and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were not prolific during their time in west London. The same can also be said about Michy Batshuayi.

When Michy Batshuayi, Willian and Eden Hazard combined for one of Chelsea’s greatest ever goals
At times in his Chelsea career, Batshuayi had a real poacher’s instinct and could pull off a really nice touch. The latter was seen in the Blues’ 4-0 win away at Brighton & Hove Albion eight years ago.
That day, Batshuayi set up Willian with a lovely back-heel after initially playing a perfect one-touch pass to the Brazilian.
Batshuayi, Willian and Eden Hazard all combined excellently as the second of that trio went on to put Chelsea 2-0 up at the Amex Stadium.

It will go down as one of the greatest goals in Chelsea’s history, while it was one of Batshuayi’s finest moments in a Chelsea shirt.
Unfortunately for the Belgian, he could never retain a spot in the Blues’ starting XI and went on to finish his career at Stamford Bridge with just 25 goals in 77 appearances.

Where is Michy Batshuayi now?
Batshuayi has been a bit of a journeyman across Europe, playing for the likes of Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Borussia Dortmund and Valencia just to name a few teams on his CV.
Right now, the 32-year-old is at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he has scored one goal in 10 appearances this season.
Batshuayi never quite found a home at Chelsea or anywhere else for that matter. But as the Belgium international showed at the Amex in 2018, he does possess some quality.
