Manchester City’s hopes of securing a top-eight finish in the Champions League were handed a blow with their defeat to Bodo/Glimt. City suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of the Norwegian club in their league phase fixture on Tuesday night.
Kasper Hogh scored a brace for the home side in Norway before Jens Petter Hauge added a third for Bodo/Glimt in the second half.
Rayan Cherki got City on the score sheet soon after, but Pep Guardiola’s side were handed another blow when Rodri was sent off for picking up two yellow cards.
This forced City to see out the remainder of the match with just 10 players on the pitch, with Rodri now facing a one-game ban, which will be applied to the Champions League.
City still have a busy fixture list ahead of them as they look to close the gap on leaders Arsenal in the Premier League, while also dealing with more matches in the Champions League, Carabao Cup and FA Cup over the next few weeks.
