Ja Morant has decided on his Grizzlies future

Ja Morant has made it clear he wants to stay with the Memphis Grizzlies, and reports indicate there's little trade interest in moving him.

Two-time NBA All-Star guard Ja Morant has made it very clear that he does not want to be traded from the Memphis Grizzlies, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

"Zach Kleiman is way too pragmatic to let one game change that much. Ja has made it very clear he does not want to get traded. He wants to stay," Stein said on SiriusXM NBA Radio. "The reality is, I don't think there is a huge market for him. I don't think there's a trade the Grizzlies could make to sell to their fans.

"He wants to stay, but he also wants to have more say like he used to," Stein added. "The franchise does not revolve around Ja Morant anymore like it used to. When Ja Morant clashed with coach Tuomas Iisalo early in the season, the front office stood behind the coach in that scenario."

Recent reports indicate that the Toronto Raptors are not pursuing a trade for Morant.

Insiders also say he is not expected to be traded to the Miami Heat or Milwaukee Bucks.

This season, Morant has played 19 games, averaging 19.3 points and 7.8 assists. He is earning $39.4 million and is under contract through 2027-28.

He has spent his entire career in Memphis, and recently reaffirmed his commitment.
