Guardiola says ‘many, many things’ are going against Man City after shock defeat to Bodo/Glimt

Pep Guardiola says his Manchester City side have been on the wrong end of “many, many things” of late after his side were beaten by Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League.

Kapser Waarts Hogh’s first-half double put Bodo two ahead at the break before Jens Petter Hauge added a third with a curling strike from distance to make it three, with Rayan Cherki later pulling a goal back for Guardiola’s side after Rodri had been sent off.

It is now back-to-back defeats for City following their Manchester derby defeat on Saturday, but Guardiola says he saw improvements from his side despite another loss.

“Difficult situations,” Guardiola said on Rodri’s two bookings. “We lose a ball and they make a transition. They are fast. Sometimes you react. I don’t know. It’s a little bit soft in the second one. It is what it is.

“But, at that moment, 3-1, one minute after, everything is a little bit against (us). For many, many things. Especially when we start in the New Year’s Eve in Sunderland, we miss what we miss.

“We started to have injuries and injuries. Matheus (Nunes) has flu, he cannot eat. So, many, many things is against (us).

“In that level, in the Champions League or United, or in the top level, it’s always a little bit more difficult to have the consistency that we had during one or two months, that we were every game winning, winning and being there.

“Now, we lost important players and we lost a little bit. But, in general, the tone of the team was much, much better than the last one (against United).”
