Pep Guardiola said that a 'fragile' Manchester City team need to change the dynamic quickly after a second defeat in four days leaves them with the feeling that 'everything is going wrong'. The Blues were stunned by Bodo/Glimt and never recovered from conceding two goals in three first-half minutes, eventually losing 3-1 on a famous night for the Norwegian side.

City were looking to all but seal a top-eight place that would see them avoid a Champions League play-off but now must wait nervously to see what is needed on top of three points from their final group game with Galatasaray next week for that to happen. Having entered 2026 in a position of strength in all competitions, they have suffered three draws and two defeats in seven January games that have changed the feel of their season.

Winless in four Premier League games, the Blues must win on Saturday against struggling Wolves if they are to have any hope of staying in the title race. That will be a test for a 'fragile' group who have been unable to cope with the loss of some important players.

"We arrived in some departments without important players and they are a little bit fragile like they were last season in a certain period but how they fought, 10 against 11, a lot of players made a step up," said Guardiola

"We have to come back for the victory. I have a feeling that the results since 2025 was not good, so in terms of the Premier League, and now today, but we have to look forward. We have four days for Wolves and after Galatasaray, to try to see what happens.

"Today was an incredible opportunity for us, but the feeling is that everything is going wrong, it's going against in many, many details, and that is a fact, and we have to try to change it. But the players are there, and we'll try."
