Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior will take charge of his first Champions League game when his side host Pafos on Wednesday.
The Blues welcome their Cypriot opponents to Stamford Bridge in their penultimate match of the group phase, with the London side currently sitting 14th in the 32-team standings.
David Luiz is set to make a return to SW6, with the centre-back – who played more than 240 times for the Blues – now playing for Pafos.
Victory will keep alive Chelsea’s chances of finishing in the top eight and qualifying automatically for the knockout stages of the competition, with a potentially tricky trip to face Serie A champions Napoli awaiting the Blues in the final round of matches.
Now, it has emerged that one of Chelsea’s transfer targets could be available for sale this summer.
As per indykaila News, Atletico Madrid attacker Julian Alvarez could be available during this summer’s transfer window.
The report claims that the Argentina international is keen to return to England, having spent time with Manchester City before joining Atletico in the summer of 2024.

Since moving to Spain, Alvarez has scored 40 goals and provided 13 assists in 84 matches across all competitions for Diego Simeone’s side.
It is claimed that Chelsea are already working on a potential deal to sign the Argentine forward, who primarily operates as a centre forward but is also capable of playing in other attacking positions.
Alvarez is under contract in the Spanish capital until the end of the 2029/30 campaign and remains a key player for Atletico, but the report suggests that the La Liga outfit could be willing to let the player depart this summer, with a deal likely to cost in the region of £75 million.
