Jonathan Kuminga mindset revealed amid Warriors’ rotation plans, Jimmy Butler injury

Per Anthony Slater, the embattled Warriors forward is ready to step up in the wake of his willingness to get traded and Butler's ACL injury.

On NBA Today, ESPN's Anthony Slater revealed that the Golden State Warriors are already exploring the reintegration of Jonathan Kuminga back into the rotation.

While Kuminga remains firm to get traded, the young forward is reportedly ready to step up in the wake of Jimmy Butler's devastating ACL injury.

"This is going to add another chapter to the Jonathan Kuminga saga. I've already been given indications that today they're exploring the idea of restarting the engines, entering Jonathan Kuminga potentially back into the rotation," Slater said, "And from the Kuminga side, his feelings towards the organization and Steve Kerr and the situation and his long-term desires have not changed.

"I have also been given indications he is telling them he will be ready if called upon, and I do think we're about to get another chapter of this."

In just the first day since he became eligible to be traded after signing a two-year, $46.8 million contract last September, Kuminga demanded to be dealt by the Warriors. The 23-year-old endured DNPs and only appeared in 18 games so far this season.

But upon Butler's season-ending injury, the Warriors have no other choice but to recall Kuminga's service to keep themselves afloat this season.

The Warriors have won 12 of their last 16 games and are playing their best basketball so far with a 25-19 record.
