Jalen Brunson calls Players-Only Meeting as Knicks struggle continues

The Knicks have been defeated in nine of their last 11 games and are just 3.0 games away from the Play-In positioning in the East.

Jalen Brunson already had enough as he and the New York Knicks couldn't stop their brutal downslide.

According to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, the franchise superstar reportedly conducted a players-only meeting to address their ongoing slump.

"Jalen Brunson called a players-only meeting for all the guys in that locker room and said, 'Guys, we've got to stop looking at the coaching staff for answers, we've got to stop looking elsewhere.' The answers to what is wrong with us right now are right in this locker room.

"We've got to look in the mirror. And it was a longer meeting, a lot of people had something to say about what was going wrong."

The Knicks are sliding and have lost nine of their last 11 games. Their record worsened to 25-18 after the embarrassing Monday loss at home against the Dallas Mavericks.

They are just 3.0 games away from the East's Play-In spot.

Brunson was candid enough to reveal his frustration about the Knicks' current play. After they got booed by New York fans throughout the brutal loss against Dallas, the All-Star argued that they simply deserved it.

As the entire NBA hits the second-half portion of the 2025-26 season, Brunson and the Knicks couldn't be more desperate to save themselves from disappointment.

"It's a team that came in thinking they had a chance. It's Finals or bust, right? They have those kind of expectations, and to fall to 25-18 right now, you could see them in the Play-In if they keep going this way," Shelburne added.
