At one point during the game, Brown was spotted embracing Green. And in the postgame, the Knicks head coach also gave a warm reception to the Golden State Warriors veteran.
These actions from Brown raised eyebrows among people in New York. According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN, what Brown did "didn't sit well" with the Knicks after what happened to Towns.
This drama that emerged adds another layer to the Knicks' ongoing struggles. The team has lost nine of its last 11 games and dropped to 25-18.
The Knicks will aim to start redeeming themselves as they'll face the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.
