Manchester City lost for a second successive match as Bodø/Glimt earned an unlikely 3-1 win over the Premier League side.
The hosts struck twice in the first half through Kasper Høgh. Jens Petter Hauge then made it three early in the second.
Rayan Cherki pulled one back for the Blues on the hour mark, only for Rodri to receive a second yellow card, washing away all hope of a result for a desperate City side.
On the back of a shambolic derby display, how did their players get on tonight?
Gianluigi Donnarumma - 6.5
Perhaps could’ve done better for the opener. After that, he was let down by an inexperienced defence that was breached so often by the Glimt counter-attacks.
The Italian made a few big saves that prevented an even more embarrassing scoreline for his team.
Rayan Ait-Nouri - 4
Started brightly on the right flank, showcasing nice, intricate footwork. But the home side had far too much joy down that side. Whether he was told to play as a right-back or right-winger is unclear.
But whatever position, he was ineffective overall.
Abdukodir Khusanov - 5
After the untimely injuries to Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol, the Uzbek has assumed a starting berth in **Pep Guardiola**’s team and looked so assured thus far.
Tonight, while not helped by a totally incoherent team, Khusanov looked shaky at times and was forced to desperately track back for the first two goals.
Max Alleyne - 3
It’s been a dream few weeks for Alleyne, who was recalled from a loan spell at Watford earlier this month. But his Champions League debut is one to forget.
He was responsible for the hosts’ first two goals, from which the Sky Blues never recovered.
Nico O’Reilly - 6.5
One of few players to come away with any sort of credit. Made the right decision more often than not in possession and did very well to hold up the ball to set up Cherki’s goal.
Rodri - 3
From the get-go, it seemed like a standard Rodri performance as he dictated the tempo, allowing his team to dominate the ball.
But he was another one where the team’s faltering hope gradually showed in his display. His role in the third goal was rather desperate and for such an experienced player to make such a silly foul moments after being booked is inexcusable, really.
Rico Lewis - 3.5
Was he on the pitch? In a midfield role that is often far more suited to his skillset than his natural right-back position, the England international was invisible for the most part in the first half.
For the rest of the game, while his feet were quick as ever, he lost the ball far too easily and couldn’t impact proceedings at all.
Tijjani Reijnders - 4.5
Similarly, the Dutchman started the game slowly. He was one of few players to get into the right offensive areas and make dangerous runs, but the chances he did have in the second half, he failed to make the most of.
Rayan Cherki - 5.5
Injecting pace into the City attack, Cherki started the game strongly and saw a chance saved early on. But that impact waned as the match got away from the Blues.
His very well-taken goal means the Frenchman comes away with some credit, but his actions thereafter did appear rather desperate, such was the situation his team found themselves in.
Phil Foden - 4
Bar one decent delivery from a corner early on and a half-decent attempt in the second half, it was another ineffective game from Foden. His fairly poor shot was somehow kept alive by the Glimt defence in the build-up to Cherki’s goal.
After such a promising run of form just a month ago, City fans are left again wanting more from their star boy.
Erling Haaland - 3.5
In keeping with his current run of form, Haaland struggled yet again to make an impact in his homeland.
While he has been almost always completely nullified in his recent league appearances, the Norwegian did manage to register a couple of attempts tonight. However, he failed to score yet again.
Substitutes:
Omar Marmoush - 5
Led one bright surge forward in his 20 minutes off the bench but that was all there was to note upon his return to the side.
