Austin Reaves hasn't played for the Los Angeles Lakers since December 25. In a matchup against the Houston Rockets, Reaves checked out after 14 minutes. He was dealing with a calf strain.
The initial timeline for Reaves was expected to be around four weeks. Lakers head coach JJ Redick revealed that Reaves is right on track. The team is targeting a return during the upcoming road trip.
An Outlook of the Lakers' Schedule
The Lakers are tipping off their eight-game road trip with a matchup against the Denver Nuggets. Reaves was expectedly ruled out for the 13th game in a row.
If the Lakers are keeping on with the exact four-week timeline, Reaves could be back for the January 26 on the road against the Bulls. However, the Lakers don't have an exact date pinpointed just yet.
Reaves Bringing a Big Boost
The Lakers started the year off hot, and Reaves was a major reason for that. He started all but one of the 23 games he played at the beginning of the year.
Reaves was shooting 50 percent from the field and 36 percent from three, taking 7.4 threes per game. He was producing 26.6 points per game, along with 5.2 rebounds and 6.3 assists.
With Reaves in the lineup, the Lakers posted a 15-8 record. The Lakers are still in good standing within the Western Conference without Reaves in the mix. With a 25-16 record, the Lakers are sitting sixth in the West. They are going to search for win No. 26.
