Chelsea fans have been reacting to the news that the Blues are interested in signing Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez.
The Blues head into their next Premier League game against a struggling Crystal Palace side, looking to build under Liam Rosenior, as they managed to secure their first league win under him against Brentford last weekend.
Much of the discussion around the club at the moment is that they need a new striker, as Liam Delap and Joao Pedro have struggled to consistently produce. According to the Metro, the Blues are interested in signing former Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez, who now plays for Atletico Madrid.
It is understood that he’s open to a return to the Premier League, and Chelsea could be the spot for him. An £87m fee would be enough to tempt Atletico to sell him and sanction a move to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea fans took to X to react to the news…

Could Chelsea sign a striker in January?
As things stand, it seems that the most likely deal for the Blues in January will be a centre-back, with reports saying they are plotting a £56m move for Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet, who has also attracted interest from Arsenal.
It is unlikely that the Blues will move for Alvarez in January, but a summer move is more than likely, as the board will hope Liam Rosenior can take the Blues that step further to battle Man City and Arsenal for the Premier League title.
