Manchester City endured a miserable night in the Champions League on Tuesday as they were beaten 3-1 by Bodo/Glimt in a result that has dented their hopes of a top-eight finish.

Pep Guardiola’s side went 3-0 down to the Norwegian side before Rayan Cherki pulled a goal back just two minutes after the hosts had earned their three-goal advantage. However, any hopes of a City comeback were extinguished when Rodri picked up two yellow cards in as many minutes and was sent off.

With the focus being on incomings this window, City are also looking to offload some players.

Romano said: “Fulham in talks to sign Oscar Bobb on permanent deal from Man City. Proposal around £35m on the table and being negotiated with MCFC. Borussia Dortmund remain keen since December, set to decide about bidding or not soon.”

The Daily Mail had named Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace as potential suitors ahead of the January window with regular reports of those clubs still being linked to the winger since.

Last weekend, Football Insider reported that Dortmund were leading the race for Bobb with Palace more firmly in the mix compared to Spurs. However, Fulham have made a move for the City man who has not played since picking up an injury against Brentford in the Carabao Cup in mid-December.

Asked if the player would remain at City beyond the end of the window, Guardiola said: “I have no idea. No idea.”

Back in October after a win over Brentford, the City boss had been full of praise for the defender. He said: “Oscar defensively is a machine, he helped us a lot and in the final third. His one-v-one is really good and he made good decisions. I’m really pleased he played good.

“I will encourage him to be more incisive and when he goes one on one, two v two, he can create really big situations.

“He made an incredible pass to Phil which was a clear chance on the penalty spot that he should have got on target. In general, he was really, really good in that 1st half and defensively, offensively - in all aspects and he is a player we trust a lot.”
