Liverpool return to Champions League action this evening, but continue to be linked with several potential new arrivals. The January transfer window remains open for just under two more weeks, and the Reds are still being tipped to bolster their squad before the February 2 deadline.

Arne Slot's side will face Marseille in the Champions League tonight as Liverpool travel to take on the Ligue 1 side.

Liverpool have already suffered two transfer setbacks this month, with Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi both choosing to join Manchester City, having previously been strongly linked with moves to Anfield.

Guehi, in particular, was close to securing a £35million move to Liverpool from Crystal Palace last summer, only for the deal to fall through, which allowed Man City the opportunity to step in and sign the England international.

There remains time for Liverpool to enter the market for new signings should they decide to do so, and consequently, there have been numerous rumours suggesting what business the Reds may complete before the deadline.

Here, the ECHO examines some of the latest Liverpool transfer news and speculation that has surfaced over the past 24 hours.

Andre 'offer' claim

Liverpool are once more being linked with a move for Wolves midfielder Andre, who was previously a target during his time at Fluminense.

Brazilian media outlet RTI Esporte have suggested that Liverpool maintain their interest in securing Andre's signature, most probably during the summer window, and have gone as far as claiming that the Reds are expected to table a bid.

Wolves are reportedly resolute in their desire to retain Andre at Molineux despite Liverpool's rumoured interest, with the report indicating that any proposal below £26.2million (€30million) would be rejected.

Joao Gomes stance

Liverpool are reportedly no longer contenders to sign Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes, with Manchester United now at the front of the queue for his services.

The Reds have been linked with a move for Gomes in recent months, but Caught Offside report that the current Premier League champions have "cooled" their pursuit of the midfielder.

Consequently, United are being mentioned as the Premier League club demonstrating the strongest interest in signing Gomes, whilst Crystal Palace have also emerged as potential suitors for the ex-Flamengo talent.
