Lakers star LeBron James showed huge respect to Nikola Jokic, calling him one of the best players ever, while also reminiscing about the 2024 Olympic Games semifinal against Serbia as one of the best games ever played.
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James showed great respect to Nikola Jokic during a 115–107 win against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday.
During a break in the action, LeBron approached the Nuggets' bench to embrace Jokic.
Commenting on the moment after the game, he said he wanted to show respect to one of the best players to ever play the game.
"It's the utmost respect," LeBron said postgame, via Dave McMenamin. "Jokic is one of the greatest players to ever play this game. For me to go over to him and just pay him respect, that's easy."
James was then asked about one of the most memorable international games in recent memory — the 2024 Paris Olympics semifinal between the United States and Serbia.
He quickly said it was one of the best games ever played, adding that it is a game he will never forget.
"It's one of the best games ever played," he said. “I've played in a lot of great games — NBA Finals games, Olympic Games, high school games, regular season games — and that one ranks right up there with the best. I will never forget that moment."
