Luka Doncic did a little of everything Tuesday night as the Los Angeles Lakers flipped the script in Denver. He posted a 38-point triple-double while Los Angeles rallied after halftime to beat the Denver Nuggets 115-107 on the road.
Denver looked good early. They put up 71 first-half points out of which Jamal Murray had 26 before the break. That changed pretty quick. The Lakers tightened up on defense, Murray went cold, and Doncic took over with LeBron James.

Los Angeles won the second half 58-36 and pulled away late. Doncic finished with 38 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists. James added 19 points, nine boards, and eight assists.
The performance also pushed Doncic into some rare company. He now has the second-most 30-point triple-doubles in NBA history.

ESPN noted that Luka Doncic has moved past Nikola Jokic for second-most 30-point triple-doubles in NBA history with 52. Only Oscar Robertson sits ahead with 106 over his career.

Doncic might hit up Jokic about it. The two are tight, connected through their European backgrounds and how they both made it to the league. They genuinely root for each other’s success.

Catching Robertson is a whole different deal though. His career numbers came from a perfect mix of his college run and an early NBA role built around him. Robertson’s size and skill let those stat lines pile up in a way that’s tough to match now.
