Report: BlueCo rate Strasbourg star'very highly'as Chelsea consider another raid on sister club

Chelsea could be about to give Strasbourg supporters another reason to be unhappy.

Presently, Strasbourg fans are furious with BlueCo, who own both the French club and Chelsea.

Their fury comes after the Blues’ decision to take Liam Rosenior away from the Stade de la Meinau and make him their manager.

Chelsea have spent more than £1bn on transfers since their takeover in 2022 but are miles away from challenging for the Premier League title. Who needs to be held to account and why? 💰

Before that, it was announced that star striker Emanuel Emegha would be joining Chelsea in the summer, a development that also infuriated Strasbourg supporters.

Chelsea contemplating Ismael Doukoure move

Defender Ismael Doukoure could be the next asset Chelsea pinch away from Strasbourg.

According to TEAMtalk, Doukoure is one player at the Ligue 1 outfit who is being considered by Chelsea right now.

The outlet claims that BlueCo rate the central defender “very highly” and that the Club World Cup winners are discussing the possibility of signing him this month.

Doukoure is not the only centre-back who is attracting interest from Chelsea. Rennes youngster Jeremy Jacquet is also a target for Rosenior’s side and appears to be the player being prioritised during this transfer window.

Ultimately, it looks like Behdad Eghbali and BlueCo will sign a central defender for Rosenior either this month or in the summer.

Ismael Doukoure’s stats under Liam Rosenior

Doukoure is obviously a footballer Rosenior is already familiar with after working with him at Strasbourg.

Under his former boss, Doukoure made 52 appearances and scored three goals. He also picked up 13 yellow cards.

At 22, he has potential and is slightly more experienced than Jacquet. However, Chelsea need someone who can make a difference now, which is why interest in the Frenchman and his compatriot will underwhelm a lot of supporters in the fanbase.

As well as Doukoure, Chelsea are also thought to be interested in signing Emegha right now. While the Netherlands international is not meant to move to Stamford Bridge until the summer, his deal could be pushed forward. It is something to keep an eye on in the coming days.
