No matter how many timesGiannis Antetokounmpo or the Milwaukee Bucks try to squash the rumor about a possible move of the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player before the trade deadline, the rumors just aren’t fading away completely.
But as long as he’s with the Bucks, the main focus for Antetokounmpo is none other than helping his team win games. However, winning regularly has been a struggle for Milwaukee, so far in the 2025-26 season, which amplifies the rumors that he wants out of Cream City.

But in the eyes of his teammate,Bobby Portis, Antetokounmpo is just staying the course amid the noise.
“I just think just on a daily basis, man, he’s taking it in a day at a time, Portis said during a recent chat on ESPN.
“Obviously, he’s been here for 13 years. So when you’ve been somewhere for so long, obviously, it means so much to you. So I just think he’s taking it in a day at a time, still trying to get wins, still trying to build camaraderie with the group we’re with. And then whatever happens, happens. But at the same time, man, just trying to build camaraderie, build good habits on a daily basis. When you have a contract, you honor your contract, you go out there and fight every night.”

Whether Antetokounmpo really wants to stay or not with the Bucks, it is undeniable that he is giving it his all whenever he’s on the court, which Portis and his teammates certainly appreciate.
He is still putting up MVP-esque numbers, as he’s averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game, while shooting 60.1 percent from the field.
