Opinion: Chelsea should use Kendry Paez interest to sign one of their Premier League rivals'best players

Kendry Paez could end up being a protagonist for Chelsea during this transfer window.

Paez is currently on loan at Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg, but he is expected to return to Stamford Bridge in the coming days.

The attacking midfielder is unlikely to stay with Liam Rosenior’s squad, with another temporary spell elsewhere more probable.

In fact, it is being reported that one of Chelsea’s Premier League rivals are interested in young Paez.

Chelsea should offer Bournemouth cash and Kendry Paez on loan for Marcos Senesi

According to UOL, Bournemouth have Paez on their shortlist. That could play into Chelsea’s hands amid their interest in Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi.

It is being widely reported that Senesi is one centre-back being considered at Chelsea as they look to strengthen in that area of the pitch this month.

It is thought that Bournemouth do not want to sell Senesi during this transfer window, but the Argentine’s contract is set to expire in the summer.

With that in mind, an offer of money and Paez on loan until the end of the season could perhaps tempt the Cherries into doing business with the Blues.

Senesi is one of Bournemouth’s star players and is a really reliable defender. According to WhoScored, the 28-year-old is making 7.7 clearances per game in the Premier League. No other footballer in the division has a higher average.

He is experienced and knows the league very well. If Bournemouth are open to doing a deal that would see Paez join them for the remainder of the campaign, it is a no-brainer.

Kendry Paez still has future at Chelsea despite underwhelming loan at Strasbourg

Clearly, Paez’s loan at Strasbourg has not worked out. The 18-year-old has scored just one goal in 15 Ligue 1 appearances.

Out of the 15 league games that Paez has played, he has only started in four of them.

He's miles off the Chelsea squad at the moment…

Nevertheless, the Ecuadorian is still a talented attacker with a lot of potential. With Chelsea not having a plethora of options in the No.10 position, he could still very well have a future at Stamford Bridge.
