Reds midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has warned that a new Liverpool contract isn’t guaranteed despite confirming that his agents are now in talks with the Merseysiders about agreeing a new deal.
The 25-year-old has been at the club for a few years now and has really developed into one of Liverpool’s most consistent performers, both for Jurgen Klopp and current boss Arne Slot.
He is more than halfway through a five-year deal after joining LIVERPOOL in 2023, and he says he is happy at the club, but no decision has been made about his long-term future, and has admitted that a new contract is not guaranteed.
“Of course, but there are always talks.
“You guys in the media make a lot for the people (public) and you keep on going because that’s your job but there has been talks but for sure not any decision has been made.
“There is always progress but no decision has been made and I’ll just keep on going every week, every training, giving my best for the team, for the fans. Let’s see what is going to happen in the future.
“I am happy here but you know how football works and that is something everybody has to take into account.”
IcFootballnews Says…
LIVERPOOL fans are very loyal to the players unless they come out and suggest that a move away could happen if they do not get the terms that are demanded, Szoboszlai is a player that fans love, but they will be shocked at this.
He is pretty much saying that if the right offer does arrive, then he will consider leaving the club and moving on.
He is a quality player that has some big club admirers, so if there is a chance to get him signed up, we are sure that some offers could arrive, especially if the Reds cannot agree a new deal before the summer window.
