Fewer touches than Raya: Arteta must now drop 5/10 Arsenal flop who only made 13 passes -…

Arsenal's incredible season got even better on Tuesday night.

Mikel Arteta's side were handed the tough task of playing Inter Milan at the San Siro in the seventh game of their Champions League campaign.

However, even though the manager made seven changes to his side, the North Londoners picked up their seventh win in the competition, and for most of the team it was a night to remember.

Unfortunately, one starter once again underwhelmed and is now in danger of becoming one of Arteta's worst signings at Arsenal.

Who shone for Arsenal vs Ineter

When talking about those players who shone for Arsenal against Inter, it's impossible not to start with Gabriel Jesus.

The Brazilian was given the nod to lead the line, and to say he grabbed the opportunity with both hands would be a colossal understatement.

It was he who opened the scoring early on with a poacher's finish.

Not content with just the one goal, he then added the North Londoners' second around 20 minutes later.

This time, it was a header that came about thanks to some smart positioning and Leandro Trossard's own well-placed header across the penalty area.

Sticking with strikers, and it's only fair to also single out Viktor Gyokeres for his brief cameo.

Sure, there were still some poor touches here and there, but the Swedish international was far more effective at using his body to hold up opposition defenders.

Moreover, he scored his second open-play goal in three games towards the end of the match, and it was a great goal at that.

Moving into the backline, and it was another stellar performance from William Saliba, but it was his partner, Cristhian Mosquera, who deserves even more praise.

It was the Spaniard's first game back in quite some time, but you'd never have known, as for most of his time on the pitch, he was impeccable.

For example, in his 75 minutes of action, he made one clearance, blocked three shots, recovered the ball five times, didn't get dribbled past once, completed 92% of his passes and 100% of his long balls and took 49 touches but lost the ball just five times.

In all, it was a night to remember for most of the Arsenal team, but unfortunately, there was one player who disappointed, a player who is in danger of becoming a flop.

So, with Gyokeres starting to score with a bit more regularity, the summer signing everyone is now turning to and questioning more is Eberechi Eze.

Now, to make it clear, the former Crystal Palace star is obviously a hugely talented player; he showed as much by winning his former side the FA Cup last season.

However, what is equally undeniably true is that, so far, he has underwhelmed for Arsenal.

Sure, he had that spectacular game against Tottenham Hotspur in which he scored a hat-trick and netted the winner against his old side, but other than that, he's not done a great deal.

For example, in 26 appearances, he has scored five goals and provided four assists, and when you take out the North London Derby, that comes down to two goals and four assists in 25 games.

That simply isn't good enough for a supposedly needle-moving addition that cost the club around £67.5m.

Unfortunately, the "unpredictable"midfielder, as dubbed by Rio Ferdinand, put in yet another middling performance on Tuesday night.

Granted, he was involved in the build-up to the first goal, but other than that, he didn't do much of note.

In fact, by the time he was hooked in the 64th minute, he hadn't played a single key pass, misplaced both of his crosses, completed just 13 passes, had just a single shot on target, took 26 touches - 20 fewer than David Raya - and lost four of his six duels.

It was a display that more than warranted the 5/10 match rating he received from the Express' Amos Murphy, who wrote that 'the playmaker didn't leave his mark on the contest.'

EZE

Ultimately, while the future looks exceedingly bright for Arsenal as a collective, Eze needs to improve and quickly, lest he go down as one of Arteta's worst signings in a long time.
