Will West Ham still make a move for former Barcelona man?

By Louis Nixon

**The Hammers are set to sign Venezuelan winger, Keiber Lamadrid on loan, which raises the question whether the Hammers should still sign Adama Traore this transfer window?**

In my opinion, the answer is yes. Whilst the signing of Keiber Lamadrid is all but confirmed, he is a player that is yet to be proven and if we were to sign him and no one else on the wing, we are unfortunately left in a position where no alternative squad changes can be made, whether thats towards the starting eleven or throughout the game, it puts the Hammers in a difficult situation.

However, that is making the assumption that Lamadrid won’t be successful, but you could still mention other troubles, such as what if an injury were to occur on the right side? If Jarrod Bowen were to suffer an injury, it doesn’t just leave us in trouble, it also leave us a massive hole in the side, for which we wouldn’t have a like-for-like replacement available to head into another match, which is another reason why Adama Traore still needs to be signed.

There’s certainly nothing wrong with having two wingers for either side. Summerville is unfortunately prone to injuries and sometimes in Football, especially in our situation, it’s better to prepare for the worst rather than assume it’ll be sunshine until the end of the season.

Not only is this just a reinforcement, but it’s a player of which Nuno has been dying to secure the signature off, at Tottenham or Forest, he’s tried to sign him and evidently still belives to this day that he’ll be able to get the most out of the Spaniard and if a manager wants a player that badly, the club should ensure that’s provided to him, not to mention, we aren’t talking about an expensive fee, he’ll cost around £5m! That’s peanuts in Football nowadays.

Lamadrid hasn’t been a player that’s ever really had the experience on the right-hand side, Guilherme has officially left the club permanantely and George Earthy is out on loan. Anyone who could play on that side is no longer available, we cannot afford to risk this, given the situation we are in.

Not signing Adama Traore, or someone like him that is proven at a high level in January transfer window would be a complete and utter disaster.
