Rumours about Cole Palmer being unsettled at Chelsea will inevitably lead to Manchester United links because it’s no secret that the England forward was a boyhood fan of the Red Devils.
There has been a lot of change at Manchester United in recent years, with more to follow in the summer now that we know Ineos are searching for a new head coach to appoint in the summer.
Michael Carrick was appointed head coach until the end of the season, one week on from Ruben Amorim’s dismissal at the beginning of January.
Although there is a slight chance Carrick could prove himself in the role and remain in charge beyond this season, United will be drawing up their shortlist of top-rated candidates over the coming months.
Football director Jason Wilcox will also be responsible for working closely with the scouting network to ensure United are targeting the right players without a permanent head coach in position to help with that search.
United are expected to revamp the midfield department, but there could be attempts to bolster the back four as well as the attack.
