While all the transfer focus at Chelsea will be on signing Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet at the moment, there is a slightly uncomfortable thought making its way onto the table.
Jacquet appears to be the only bit of business Chelsea are aiming to do this month in terms of new signings. But if they cannot agree on a fee for the £60m-rated star, then they will target another defender.
Elsewhere, Chelsea are expected to make a few sales. Raheem Sterling’s future is not at Chelsea while Axel Disasi is back in training, but his long-term future remains a doubt. Leverkusen want Filip Jorgensen.
Decisions are yet to be made on loanees David Datro Fofana and Kendry Paez, though they are expected soon. However, there is an outgoing – more likely for the summer – that will have fans feeling concerned.

PSG want to sign Enzo Fernandez. A sentence that will strike fear into the hearts of Chelsea’s fanbase, not only because of how important Fernandez is, but because of the spending power that PSG currently have.
How much Chelsea would want to sell Enzo Fernandez to PSG
Joining the club three years ago in January 2023, it is remarkable that Enzo has already clocked up 146 Chelsea outings following his £107m move. While he joined a World Cup winner, Enzo is better now.
A more-experienced player, a player with a goal threat and surely, a key player for Argentina whereas before he was rotationally used. Currently, the British record transfer fee stands at a huge £125m.
A fee paid by Liverpool to Newcastle for the services of Alexander Isak. Ben Jacobs reports on CFC Gem’s Live show on X that if Chelsea were to sell Enzo, it would have to be more than the £107m they paid.

“For now, it’s all pretty quiet. From PSG’s point of view, as far as I’m told, they’re relatively happy with the midfielder at the moment. It would be a bit of a twist, if they tried to do anything for Enzo in the summer.
“From Chelsea’s point of view, any sale would obviously have to be more than the British transfer record that they paid at the time,” Jacobs continued, when discussing the chances of a PSG move for Enzo.
“And remember, PSG’s mantra at the moment is not to buy Galacticos or stars or spend world record type wages or British transfer record type outgoings. It’s to be much more economical,” the reporter added.
What Enzo recently did against Brentford hints at his future
At the moment, Chelsea are having to play with a virus spreading itself through the Chelsea squad. Enzo is one of those, who is set to miss Wednesday night’s Champions League clash against David Luiz’s Pafos.

But on Saturday, Enzo played for 85 minutes despite Rosenior confirming he had fallen ill. A clear sign that Enzo not only loves playing and is willing to go beyond, but also indicates a sign for the future.
Enzo has a contract at Chelsea until the summer of 2032 and there is certainly no pressure to sell for the London club. Whether Enzo is willing to remain at Chelsea is unclear, but all the signs suggest he does.
