The January transfer window closes in less than a fortnight and Liverpool are yet to bring in any new faces. Marc Guehi, who nearly moved to Liverpool on deadline day last summer, has joined rivals Manchester City, forcing Liverpool to pursue alternative centre-back targets.
The future of Mohamed Salah at the club beyond the summer is unclear and Richard Hughes would be prudent to begin identifying potential replacements. Additionally, there may be departures from the club before the window closes.

Red Bull chief Oliver Mitzlaff said: "Even if an offer of €80 or €90 million comes in, he's still here."
Capable of playing on either flank, Diomande could be a potential heir to Salah at Liverpool and, at just 19 years old, he could provide a long-term solution should the Egyptian depart.
Speaking on a TikTok live stream in November, he said: "I want to play at Anfield. I want to play for Liverpool. I'm a big fan of Liverpool. I want to play for Liverpool. I'm a huge Liverpool fan. My dad dreams of seeing me play at Anfield!"
Liverpool plot move for Andre

The Reds have reportedly expressed genuine interest in the 24 24-year-oldyear old midfielder, who could look to leave if Wolves face relegation from the Premier League.
The report even suggests that Liverpool "intend to make an offer" for the Brazilian, who is valued at approximately £25m. Clubs from Italy, Turkey and France are also keen on securing his signature.
Signed from Fluminense in 2024, Andre is a traditional holding midfielder - a specialist Liverpool have desperately needed since Fabinho's departure from the club.
Whilst Ryan Gravenberch has previously performed admirably in the deeper role, his technical skills and attacking capabilities are being underutilised further back and bringing in a defensive midfielder like Andre could allow the Dutchman to operate further forward where he thrives.
