Liverpool team confirmed to face Marseille in the Champions League.
Arne Slot has made three changes as Liverpool face Marseille in the Champions League.
Joe Gomez comes into the defence in the place of Ibrahima Konate for match-day seven at the Stade Velodrome. Konate did not travel with the Reds as he returned to his native France for a family matter. Konate has not travelled to the south of France to feature so Gomez gets the nod.
In addition, Mo Salah is back in the starting line-up for the first time in almost two months. The winger has missed the past seven games having captained Egypt at the African Cup of Nations.
Salah had found himself on the Liverpool bench before the tournament, with his last start coming in a sobering 4-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven on match-day five of the Champions League on 26 November. Salah claimed after a 3-3 draw against Leeds United that he had been ‘thrown under a bus’ and his relationship with Slot had broken down.
However, Liverpool head coach Slot has insisted that there is no issue with Salah - and the club’s third all-time top scorer is deployed in his usual right-wing berth, with Cody Gakpo dropping to the bench from the 1-1 draw against Burnley in the Premier League last weekend.
Meanwhile, Alexis Mac Allister returns to the midfield with Curtis Jones named among the substitutes.
Liverpool are aiming to deliver victory and bolster their chances of finishing in the top eight of the Champions League table, which would ensure automatic qualification into the last 16.
