Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Reece James, Ibrahim Rabbaj and Jeremy Jacquet that you may have missed…
Chelsea Fc have announced that Academy attacker Ibrahim Rabbaj has put pen to paper on his first professional contract, committing his future to the Blues until at least 2028.
The Blues posted on the club website: ‘Rabbaj joined CHELSEA from Crystal Palace at Under-12s level and has developed into a creative attacking midfielder, becoming an influential figure throughout his schoolboy years at the club.
‘This season, he has been a consistent performer for our Under-18s, making 13 appearances across all competitions, including seven in the Under-18 Premier League. He scored a hat-trick in our 5-1 victory over Leicester City last time out, as the young Blues remain unbeaten in the league so far.
‘Rabbaj has also featured in our FA Youth Cup run, starting in the fourth-round victory over Brentford, as well as making his UEFA Youth League debut against Qarabag, before scoring his first Under-19s goal in a 1-1 draw with Barcelona.
‘At international level, Rabbaj represents Morocco and was part of the squad that lifted the Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations in April 2025.
‘Congratulations Ibby!’

The news that Rabbaj has agreed a new contract is great for the lad, he fully deserves this deal after all the hard work he has been putting in over the past few seasons.
But he now needs to keep his head down, work hard and hope that he is given the opportunities to play in that CHELSEA first team, and hope that he is not just shipped out on loan every other transfer window,
JACQUET REAL DEAL
French football expert Julian Laurens believes Jeremy Jacquet is ‘the real deal’ and understands why Chelsea are pursuing the ‘amazing’ talent, even comparing him with Arsenal star Saliba.
Saliba has developed into one of the best defenders in the world since signing for Arsenal in 2019, and Like Jacquet, Saliba came through in Ligue 1 – impressing for Saint-Etienne before earning a £27m move to the Emirates Stadium.

Reports have claimed that CHELSEA are closing in on the signing of Jacquet, with reports suggesting that a fee of £60 million is what the Blues have agreed too over the past few days, and according to Laurens, Chelsea will be signing a very good player.
‘I think he is the real deal,’ Laurens told Sky Sports. ‘I know he’s only 20 and has very little experience, even in Ligue 1 because he hasn’t played for France or in the Champions League or even the Europa League.
‘There’s still a long time to go for him but he’s been impressive since he was recalled from his loan in the second division last season.
‘He’s a player Liam Rosenior will know because he’s played against him and seen him in action. You can’t get it wrong, really, because he is amazing and he is going to be amazing.
‘He reminds me a bit of William Saliba when he burst onto the scene in France at Saint-Etienne.
‘The question is how much do they value the potential and talent because he’s only 20 and you’re paying a lot for someone who hasn’t proved much because he hasn’t played many games.
‘So how much are CHELSEA ready to pay? Rennes want more than Man City paid for Doku which was 64m euros. So Chelsea will need to pay at least £60m which is a lot of money for such a young player.’

The lad is talented and Chelsea are getting someone that could be the next William Saliba, but Jacquet will need time and patience, something that Chelsea have not really given over the last few years.
REECE JAMES MAY LEAVE?
Chelsea have been warned that club captain Reece James may not sign a new long-term contract if they don’t back his ambition in the coming transfer windows.
The 26-year-old has excelled at both full-back and in central midfield, while also establishing himself as a key figure in Thomas Tuchel’s England side ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
But the CHELSEA Captain wants to carry on winning trophies and Cundy Believes that James may be open to leaving the club at the end of the season if the board do not meet the ambitions of James, and there could be a few clubs interested.

And Cundy even claimed that the club’s owner BlueCo may decide to cash in on James this summer if there are indications that their captain is willing to run down his contract and leave on a free: ‘Watch this space,’ Cundy said on talkSPORT. ‘They are going to have to do something about that. We need to keep Reece James. Let me tell you now, we need to get Reece around a table and sign a new contract.
‘We’ve seen what Trent did at Liverpool. If it gets to 18 months left, you can’t allow him to get into his final year because then he will potentially walk for nothing.
‘We’ve just seen Marc Guehi leave for a song. He’s worth three times what Manchester City paid for him.
‘One of the things I understood from the new owners when they came in was they were astonished that we allowed Rudiger and Christensen – worth well over £100m between them two of them – to walk on a free.
‘They could not get around the fact that the previous regime allowed that to happen. So I will be stunned and amazed if they allowed Reece to have so much power without signing a new contract.’

James has shown no real desire to want to leave CHELSEA, there is not too much interest and to be honest, Chelsea will only sell if a new deal can be agreed and a crazy fee is offered.
It is that simple.
