Knicks actively exploring trades for big man ahead of deadline

The New York Knicks are actively exploring trades for forward Guerschon Yabusele, who has struggled for playing time this season after a strong comeback with the 76ers last year.

The February 5 trade deadline is just two weeks away, and the New York Knicks are actively in talks with multiple teams about power forward Guerschon Yabusele, according to Stefan Bondy of the New York Post.

New York Knicks / Schedule

After making a comeback in the NBA last season with the Philadelphia 76ers, Yabusele signed with the Knicks during the past offseason on a two-year, $11.7 million contract.

"I'm just like you, I don't know anything about it," Yabusele recently addressed trade rumors. "As I've said, I'm trying not to complain too much about my situation anymore, to make do with what I've got, to give everything on the court.

"And when I need to be informed [about a potential trade], I'll be informed."

Things haven't gone as he hoped in New York. Yabusele hasn't been part of Mike Brown's rotation, averaging just 2.9 points and 2.2 rebounds in 9.4 minutes over 36 games.

That's a significant drop from last season, when he posted 11.0 points and 5.6 rebounds in 27.1 minutes across 70 games (43 starts).
