Trade proposal that pairs Knicks asset with Wemby in Spurs

With Guerschon Yabusele trade rumors intensifying, this trade proposal would send the New York Knicks big to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Jeremy Sochan.

The New York Knicks are not having an easy time lately, and it seems pretty clear that some of the moves made during the offseason have not brought the desired results.

With Guerschon Yabusele trade rumors intensifying, the Frenchman's future in New York is definitely in doubt.

After a very positive season in Philadelphia, Yabusele signed a two-year contract with the Knicks in the summer.

However, the French player is not making the impact off the bench that the Knicks had hoped he would.

Mike Brown has given him little playing time so far, and when the Frenchman has been on the court, he has rarely made a positive contribution.

The Knicks need quality minutes off the bench and could use the contracts of Yabusele and the young Dadiet, along with future draft picks, to try to acquire a power forward who can bring substance.

My perfect trade target for the Knicks is Jeremy Sochan of the San Antonio Spurs.

Sochan is a versatile player, capable of defending multiple positions and making a significant contribution on the boards.

Given that Sochan's contract is expiring and he isn't getting much playing time in San Antonio, the Knicks could try to sign him without sacrificing too many important assets.

His energy coming off the bench could become a valuable weapon for coach Brown.

Why does it make sense for the Knicks

With this trade, the Knicks could add a number four like Sochan, who can bring energy, defense, and playmaking off the bench, something that could definitely come in handy for Mike Brown.

Yabusele, in fact, has not proven to be a good fit for the Knicks, and since the player has a player option for next season as well, it would be important for New York to offload his contract and find a more effective alternative.

Sacrificing two future second-round picks is the price to pay to get the deal going.

Why does it make sense for the Spurs

Sochan no longer seems to be an integral part of the San Antonio Spurs' rotation. The 22-year-old's minutes have dropped from an average of 25 last season to 13 this year.

His overall stats are also down, and with his contract expiring, it seems unlikely that the Spurs will continue to rely on him.

Getting a couple of future second-round picks is a decent return for a player who now seems to have fallen out of favor.

Yabusele could also be used as a bargaining chip next summer if an interesting trade opportunity arises for the Spurs.
