This season, the 28-year-old has averaged 3.2 points and 3.3 rebounds in 9.1 minutes over 28 games.
A six-year NBA veteran, Richards was traded to Phoenix last January from the Charlotte Hornets alongside a future second-round pick in exchange for Josh Okogie and three second-round picks.
