Filip Jorgensen was forced to come off during Chelsea's clash against Pafos in the UEFA Champions League. The 23-year-old goalkeeper, who appeared to suffer a knock towards the end of the first half, was replaced by Robert Sanchez at half-time.

Liam Rosenior also brought on Estevao Willian for Reece James at the break. Jorgensen didn't have much to do between the sticks, with the Cypriot outfit's solitary effort striking the post.

The Denmark international was, however, required to make some clever passes and help the Blues beat the press. Midway through the first half, Jorgensen defused a sticky situation by coolly controlling the ball with his chest.

Then, shortly before the break, he was spotted hobbling around his area before trying to run off what seemed to be an injury. Jorgensen signalled the issue to the bench and he was taken off at half-time.

Speaking to club media ahead of the clash against Pafos, Rosenior outlined his confidence in the Dane. The Chelsea boss said: "I think tonight is the perfect opportunity for Filip to continue his form.

"I was very impressed with him away at Charlton, and he deserves this opportunity. I walked into the group and said I trust them, I’ve done my homework on each player, and I want to give them maximum opportunities to show what they can do."

Earlier this month, Rosenior described Jorgensen and Sanchez as 'world-class goalkeepers with their feet'. When asked how he plans to utilise the duo, the Blues boss said: "Every team is different.

"You work to the ability of your players. You work to what their strengths are. I'm very fortunate. Both Jorgensen and Sanchez are world-class goalkeepers with their feet, which absolutely suits the way I want to play.

"But I'm not going to come in here on the first day and say to Rob to play from the halfway line or for Filipe to play from the halfway. It takes time, it's a process. I feel very confident.

"I can bring the best out of my group in different areas and different aspects. Playing one way with one team is different to playing another way with another. I can be adaptable. It's about my players and their strengths."

While Rosenior has been keen to give Jorgensen opportunities to impress, the Chelsea boss has been delighted with Sanchez. Following the Spaniard's man of the match display against Brentford, he said: "He was outstanding today.

"He was outstanding in his distribution - a couple of fantastic long passes to our wide players - in terms of his command of the box, in terms of the saves that we needed him to make.

"It was a fantastic performance. It doesn't surprise me."
