Liverpool’s 3-0 rout of Marseille started with a Dominik Szoboszlai free-kick that puts him in rare Liverpool company.
There were plenty of standouts in this vintage European performance.
Milos Kerkez announced himself in the Champions League with a flawless 90 minutes, and his fellow countryman was another star on the night.

Dominik Szoboszlai matches Mo Salah and Steven Gerrard with Champions League feat
The Hungarian has an argument for Liverpool’s best player this season, and that’s partly due to the leap he has taken in attacking output.
After missing a penalty against Burnley, Szoboszlai promised to redeem himself and he did exactly that in scoring Liverpool’s opener.
He also joined Mo Salah and Steven Gerrard as players who have managed a goal involvement in five straight Champions League appearances. Gerrard did it twice.

Szoboszlai matches Trent Alexander-Arnold feat as well
Liverpool have missed Alexander-Arnold’s creativity and playmaking brilliance.
One strength in his game has been supplemented though.
Szoboszlai is the first Liverpool player since Trent in 22/23 to score multiple free-kicks in a campaign. This clever execution follows that decisive screamer against Arsenal at Anfield earlier this season.
